Black Bear Course – The Preserve, Clearwater, MN

The Black Bear Course is the premier championship layout at The Preserve, designed specifically for the annual Disc Golf Pro Tour stop: The Preserve Championship. Only available in the weeks surrounding the event, Black Bear combines the most iconic and demanding holes from the Timberwolf, Lynx, and Red Fox courses into one unforgettable test of disc golf.

Stretching over 10,673 feet and playing as a par 68, Black Bear pushes even the world’s best players with a mix of long, punishing par 4s and 5s, technical woods, and risk-reward water carries. Every hole is crafted for both challenge and spectacle, making it one of the most prestigious temporary layouts in professional disc golf.

The 2025 Black Bear layout featured new design elements by Simon Lizotte in collaboration with Cale Leiviska, further enhancing shot variety and strategic decision-making. From precision rollers to demanding multi-shot fairways, each change has been carefully tuned to elevate the course for both competitors and spectators.

With turf tees, Prodigy T2 baskets, and championship-caliber design, Black Bear has earned a reputation as one of the most beautifully balanced and competitive courses in the sport.
